Orders are generally processed within 2-3 business days. I post everything through Canada Post who estimate orders shipping to Canada and the U.S. will normally arrive between 3-10 business days.
UPDATED: I currently only ship within Canada at this time.
NO Shipping to the United States: August 1, 2025, the United States imposed new tariffs on Canadian-made goods, including greeting cards and paper crafts. With the removal of other treaties/policies, it has gotten too complicated and expensive to ship orders at this time. We are waiting for more clarification from Canada Post on how this affects small orders to the US.
If you find yourself in Victoria, BC, you’re always welcome to visit me at a local market or arrange a local pickup. Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support of handmade Canadian goods.
Other International Locations: Please contact info@kailyardcreations.com if you would like to place an order as shipping will be calculated individually.
We use flat-rate shipping through Canada Post (insider tip: same fee for 1 card or 10!)
o Within Canada is $6.00 CAD
o United States is cancelled at this time
All orders are packaged in either a rigid cardboard mailer or special slot-box made right here in Victoria, BC. Everything is shipped through over-sized letter-mail which is generally quicker and more cost efficient than parcels. If you wanted to add insurance, please email info@kailyardcreations.com prior to placing an order.
If you wanted to ship to a location other than Canada or the United States, please contact me regarding shipping fees and timings.
Absolutely! Just enter your postal code in the Check-out screen and choose Local Pick-Up. You can pick up your order at the Goldstream Marina (not particularly handy but we having stunning views and seals!) or visit me at one of the local markets where I’m selling. Here’s my MARKET SCHEDULE and stay up to date by subscribing to our Newsletter and follow us on Instagram and/or Facebook.
“Free Shipping” is a bit of a misnomer… and since I believe in full transparency, I will never add in extra fees to the cost of my products. Plus a lot of my customers ordering on the website are local, so it wouldn’t be fair to make them pay for hidden shipping fees.
Fortunately this is very rare. Please contact me via EMAIL within 3 days of receiving your product and include a photo of the damage so that we can validate the claim with Canada Post.
Naturally, I hope you will love your order but if you are not happy, you can request a refund within 14 days of receipt. Once returned item(s) are received, a refund will be issued back to your credit card. Products must be returned in the same condition and packaging as they were received. Customers will assume the cost of return shipping.
Due to the nature of being handmade, the products you receive will be similar to but not identical to the one in the picture(s). That’s part of the charm, though, right?! Colours may also vary slightly between monitors/screens.
Nope – sorry! But you can find me at local Victoria Markets (check out my Events page) OR you can SHOP Online right here… in your jammies!
Sure do! This can be something as simple as adding a name to changing the colouring of that cute little kitty or designing a whole new card. I won’t go into great detail here since I have a page that tells you all about the process and our services. VISIT the Custom Card page to learn more.
Think of me as part illustrator, part stamper, part paper-engineer. Many of my characters are born on my iPad — drawn and designed digitally by me so I can tweak their personalities, swap outfits, or change colours on a whim. Others come from rubber stamps that I stamped then coloured with alcohol-based markers, watercolours, inks and sparkly things.
The card or tag bases are cut from 80-110lb card-stocks so they’re nice and sturdy. Generally the backgrounds are created through layering different card-stocks, brushing/splattering/smearing ink and/or embossing them for texture. Some of my designs also use fun patterned papers.
The greetings are, more often than not, designed and printed by me (I have a ridiculous amount of fun with this!). Once I have everything ready and cut out, I build it all up in layers for my signature 3D layered effect.
The bulk of my crafting supplies comes from a small local woman-owned scrapbooking business and my favourite local Stampin-Up Demonstrator (home business).
You betcha! I am a big believer in mindful shopping so I purchase locally whenever possible, buy papers and packaging that is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and recyclable, minimize plastics and create products that are designed to combat the “throw-away” culture.
I even switched Kailyard Creations to a green web hosting provider that puts back 3 times the power they consume. I understand the importance of protecting our ecosystems, in fact, I have a whole page dedicated to how I am saving the world… one paper bag at a time.

A KAILYARD is a Scottish term for a kitchen garden (veggies, strawberries, herbs). I come from a fairly nomadic family and have kept on with this tradition. I am also a bit of a self-proclaimed foodie, so one of the first things I do in a new home is start my own wee kailyard. I love getting my hands dirty, experimenting with local varieties and using home-grown produce in my cooking.
Since my business needed to be as “mobile “ as my lifestyle, I named it Kailyard Creations. Learn more about me, and Kailyard Creations’ mission and values by Visiting our About page.
